Less than 24 hours after agreeing to part ways with the Dallas Cowboys, former offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has already found a new home.
Moore will be packing his bags and heading to sunny Los Angeles to become the Chargers offensive coordinator, per NFL Network.
At only 33-years-old, Moore has lots of NFL experience under his belt. Not only did he have a short stint as a player for the Cowboys, but he’s also been coaching for the last five seasons.
Moore was hired as Dallas’ QBs coach in 2018. From 2019 to 2022, he was promoted to offensive coordinator.
Moore’s offenses were dominant in the regular season, but lacked a spark in the playoffs. After postseason losses in back to back seasons, much of the blame for the shortcomings fell on the offense. Last season, the Cowboys scored only 17 points in a Wild Card Round loss. This year, Dallas only mustered up 12 points in a Divisional Round loss.
This could prove to be a rare instance where a coach leaving a team works out for all parties involved. Moore will inherit a Chargers offense loaded with weapons, including star QB Justin Herbert.
